Lower Camp
| Description: | Facing East. Taken from hill west of "office" area. If you face north the camp is in the shape of a "U". The "Office" is the left arm and the "Home" is the right arm. This picture shows the bottom section of the "U" joining the two upper sections, "Home" and "Office".
On the left is the mess area. Officers and enlisted men had seperate mess tents. As far as I know they ate the same food. If so, they also didn't want turkey for a long, long time after Korea. Every few days were Thanksgiving. I'm told the Chapel is also in that area. Across the road, on the left side of the screen, are more enlisted men's quarters. The line of tents turns left at the end of the road and are then in the "Home " area. |
