| Description: | I Corps was made up of the 1st US Marine Division, the British Commonwealth Brigade, the 1st Republic of Korea (ROK) and the 45th Infantry Division. The Corps front was under aerial surveillance most of the daylight hours. During the summer, depending on weather, we had 12 flights of two air force photo-reconnaissance planes. Winter provided 8 flights. The call signs "Anaconda Control" (me) and "Hammer Able One and Two" (AF flights) were changed throughout the year. The second flight of the day would be Hammer Able Three and Four. When I first arrived P-51 Mustangs were the planes used then after about six months they shifted to the F-80 Shooting Star.
This is how it works. Using the map in the background and incoming intelligence information, I schedule the areas these flight cover the following day. Any changing of the routes would be handled when the flights check in. Tomorrow's information is sent to K14 Kimpo Air Base tonight, via the teletype just to the right and behind me.
