"Double bend" of the Imjin River

Description:Facing mostly south.

There it is. The "double bend" of the Imjin River from 33,000 ft. This was a famous land mark to me. I had heard it mentioned many times as I monitored my radio. Often when the pilots were separated or out of sight of each other they would rendezvous at the "double bend if the Imjin River". I could now see what a perfect rendezvous site it was, being visible for hundreds of miles. Part of the "double bend" was controlled by UN forces and part under Communist control. I had never been at 33,000 feet before and the most impressive part of the flight was I could see both the east and west coasts. Just a little further south in the next picture you can see where our camp was.
